Gators have a very powerful tail to propel it's way through water, and they have tough, armored skin. They also have webbed and clawed feet. Gators can camouflage very well in water, what you think is a log can be monster. Those were physical adaptations, the way an animal looks. Alligators can lunge at you with very strong jaws, which they can clamp on their prey. They also do the "death roll". Gators do this to help break apart their food, they roll around, and around until the prey stops strggling. They can also drown their prey.
